This month's issue of
Georgia Magazine listed Tallulah Gorge as a "genuine gem," one of the seven natural wonders of the state.
"Five waterfalls turn the gorge
floor into a cascade of sparkling lace
as the river drops more than 500 feet
in less than a mile. Just over two
miles long, this “Niagara of the
South” packs a lot of beauty into
that distance. Five weekends a year,
the dam opens, allowing kayakers to
test themselves against the whitewater’s
fury."
